River City Cellars prides itself on its eclectic, sophisticated selection. We stock freshly baked bread from Metro Bakery, Belgian Ales, many types of olives, hard to find gourmet products and, of course, an excellent variety of wines in all styles from around the world. Come check out our under $10 wines, mix your own six pack of beer or sample items from our cheese case. We offer case discounts on all items, mixed or whole.

Knowledgeable Staff:

The four of us--Julia, Peter, Sara, and David are here for you. Bring us your questions, special orders, hard-to-find-item requests, meal-pairing conundrums. We are more than happy to help. We believe that wine is not just an art form, but a positive part of everyday life. It should be accessible, fun, and informative.

Cheese Counter:

Don't miss out on Richmond's best selections of artisinal cheeses, imported and domestic, including many raw milk varieties--all fresh and cut to order. Samples are always available and special orders are welcome.

Cellaring Service:

River City Cellars stores its wine in a temperature and humidity controlled cellar. We offer 16- and 20-bottle secure, redwood wine lockers for rent in our cellar. This allows our customers to store and age their wines properly, thereby ensuring their quality and increasing their value. This service is insured and Virginia ABC approved. Wine and Beer Tastings:

Dinner Events:

From time to time, River City Cellars will team up with a local restaurant to offer a wine or beer dinner centered around a region, a winemaker, an importer or a type of wine, or style of brew. This allows for a more leisurely and in-depth education than our in-store tastings can provide. One can compare wines over time, take notes, ask questions and, most importantly, experience how wine, beer and food complement each other. We try to offer simple meals at reasonable prices, prepared and presented by folks who really know their stuff! We'll feature guest speakers and offer special presale prices on items tasted. We're always open to suggestions: let us know what you're interested in tasting. Don't forget to keep an eye on our calendar!

Special occasions and delivery:

Have a special occasion or large order? Give us a call and we'll be happy to deliver. Delivery is free for orders of $200 or more, within the Richmond City limits. (Virginia ABC regulations require that orders be prepaid and received by persons 21 years or older.)
