China Blue Red Pepper Scallion Oil
The first thing you might notice about this product is its beautiful packaging. As of last night's cooking adventure in my kitchen, I discovered that this product's quality matches its pretty exterior.
When it comes to cooking, I try to be as frugal and practical as possible. This usually means learning how to make all aspects of a dish from scratch. I do make the occasional exception to this rule when I am tight on time but still want to create something that tastes like it was lovingly crafted over many hours. Last night I found myself craving sesame noodles, one of my favorite side dishes but was running short on time. I decided to make my beloved dish using the China Blue Red Pepper Scallion Oil, and must admit that I found it even better than my own from-scratch version. The oil has just the right balance of sweet, sour, salt and spice. See for yourself just how quick, easy and delicious this dish is by following the recipe below:
Sesame Noodles
1 Bottle China Blue Red Pepper Scallion Oil
1 box (1 lb.) Fettucine
1 large bunch of scallions cut on the diagonal (julienned). Depending on your taste, use almost all of the onion or just the green part.
1 large or 2 small carrots cut into small match sticks
1/2 cup regular or black sesame seeds, lightly toasted
In your largest mixing bowl toss cooked and drained pasta with the entire bottle of oil, scallions and carrot. Add the toasted sesame seeds and toss again. If you like this dish a little spicier, just add some red hot pepper flakes to your taste. You will find that this dish can be made within 20 minutes and will feed a hungry horde!
Enjoy as a side dish served warm or cold. Put this out at your next party and watch every last noodle disappear!
