Gunther's Peach Salsa
July, August and September are the months when the tomato is king. Gardens everywhere boast a bounty of tomatoes of different textures, colors, shape and flavors. Salsa is one of my favorite ways to appreciate that fleeting, once a year, garden fresh taste of home grown tomatoes. I find myself eating copious amounts of the stuff during the hotter months of summer. Certified Executive Chef Michael Lampros, comedian, professional flirt and our local genius behind Gunther's Gourmet, has just come out with a fantastic new line of salsas. I especially liked the Peach salsa which beatifully and skillfully combines the clean acidity of the tomato and the soft sweetness of the peach with just a touch of warmth on the finish. Eat this as a dip or to compliment vegetables, seafood, meat or poultry. Aside from the fantastic, right out of the garden taste sealed in every jar, there are many other reasons reasons to love Gunther's salsas. The entire line of Gunther's salsas, marinades and dressings are locally made with all natural, healthy and unique ingredients. Since Michael Lampros named his company after his beloved dog Gunther, a portion of the profits are donated to help support animal shelters. So while you treat your taste buds you also support a local business and help our overburdened animal shelters.
Enjoy!
