Inama Inamorata

Hello hello!

I know I normally use this forum to blather on and on about some special cheese and the multitude of ways I've come up with to ingest said cheese, but not this time, folks. Sorry to disappoint, but I have a new wine crush I want to share with you instead!

May I present the most lovely, smile inducing, and palate pleasing white from Italy's Veneto region called Inama Vin Soave. This wine is absolutely my new favorite and it outshines all of the many boring, bland Soaves that you'll find all over the place. This is what true, well-made, Soave should be, when the goal is quality over quantity. The grape is 100% Garganega, the nose is elegant and wild-flowery and the flavors are complex, balanced and lush. Hints of golden plum, melon, and lemon (the very rare plumelonlemon) harmoniously blend with a zippy, tingly minerality and great finish of earthy vetiver, sandlewood, and almond. Simply superb.

I haven't even paired it with any food or cheese yet, simply because I am so enthralled with it on it's own, that I always end up drinking it all before I have a chance to add any other flavors into the mix. It certainly makes the perfect aperitif, that I know for sure, and maybe once I stop proving that well-known fact, I'll try it with some lemon roasted chicken or a piece of rockfish with some fresh veggies. It would probably be quite tasty with a simple salad with some shaved Piave Vecchio, too!

Cheers!
